A one day training session and workshop on National Educational Policy was conducted for the teachers on 5th October 2023 at SKPS Kaduthuruthi in collaboration with Ratna Sagar Publications.

The resource person for the programme was Mr Prasidh Prasad. The session started at 1.15pm with the welcome address by the Principal Rev Fr Ajeesh Kunjarakkattu OSB. Mr Jisen Johnson, representing Ratna Sagar Publication expressed the felicitations for the programme.

In the first half of the session, teachers were introduced to the features of NEP 2020 and its related topics. School Quality Assessment and Assurance Framework (SQAAF), changes implemented by CBSE from 2018 till date, Structured Assessment For Analysing Learning (SAFAL), Multi Disciplinary Learning (MDL) and various learning and assessment tools were discussed in detail.

In the later half, teachers were divided into 5 groups and asked to incorporate multi disciplinary approach to a given topic.Competency Based Assessment (CBA) and its significance in today’s classroom was another area of discussion. The speaker also envisaged a Chapter-wise lesson plan with innovative steps to the teachers and asked to implement the same in their curriculum. Indeed the training session helped all the participants to get a clear idea about NEP 2020 and to improvise themselves to equip with the challenges of the modern classrooms.

The programme concluded at 3.45 pm with the vote of thanks proposed by the staff secretary and senior faculty Mrs Prasannakumari.
