The 79th Independence Day was celebrated at our school with great patriotic fervour and enthusiasm. The celebrations brought together students from Pre-KG to Std. 5, with each section contributing to the spirit of the day. The programme aimed to remind everyone of the sacrifices made by our freedom fighters and to instill in students the values of unity, responsibility, and love for the nation.
Programme Highlights
The events began in the Kindergarten section. The LKG classes provided the venue, and the assembly was conducted by UKG–A with a prayer, prayer song, and pledge. Yoga and brain-boosting exercises were conducted by Vineetha Miss and Rajitha Miss. On special invitation, Rev. Fr. Ajeesh OSB (Principal) and Mrs. Mary Clemence (Primary Head) graced the occasion and interacted warmly with the children. Princy Miss then delivered a welcome speech, highlighting the importance of the day.
This was followed by engaging sessions where children were introduced to National Symbols, National Leaders, the Indian Army and its role, and the concept of Bharat Mata as Mother India. Pre-KG and UKG students presented a colourful dance, while Jayden of UKG–C delivered an impressive speech. A common dance by all children brought joy and unity to the gathering, and the programme concluded with the National Anthem.
For Std. 1–5, the celebration began with the morning assembly conducted by Std. 4 on the theme of “Patriotism.” Students presented inspiring programmes on freedom fighters. A heart-touching group song was performed by Std. 4, and the programme culminated with a vibrant Tiranga dance by Std. 5, leaving the audience deeply moved.
Adding to the solemnity of the occasion, a remarkable speech on the importance of Independence Day was delivered, highlighting the long struggle for freedom and urging all to safeguard our liberty with pride and dedication. A powerful mime performance further reinforced the values of unity and patriotism, leaving a lasting impression on the audience.
