“Victory is in the quality of competition and not in the final score”.

The aim behind holding Sahodaya Badminton Tournament was to inculcate the spirit of sportsmanship and fondness for sports in children. The second day of the tournament commenced at 9.00 a.m. There were 22 teams in the event, which had three divisions – boy’s doubles, girls doubles and the finals of girls singles. The spectators witnessed a tough match and all the teams played vigorously to win.

•The winner of boys singles was Master Sanath John from Sree Saraswathy Vidya Mandir Senior Secondary School, Karikode and the runner up was Master Arun Mathews from BMM Senior Secondary School Pampady.

•The girls singles was bagged by Kumari Ann George from Excelsior English School,Illickal, Kottayam and the runner up was Kumari Niranjana, Mary Mount Public School, Kattachira.

•The boys doubles were secured by Master Arun Mathews and Master Alvin Liju Mathew from BMM Sr.Sec.School, Pampady and the runners up were Master Sanath John and Saurav John from Sree Saraswathy Vidya Mandir Sr.Sec.School, Karikode.

•The winners of girls doubles were Kumari Ann George and Kumari Avandhika S Pillai from Excelsior, Illikal, Kottayam and the runners up were Kumari Irin Elsa Francis and Anuja Jijimol from SKPS, Kaduthuruthy.

                      The valedictory function began at 4.00 p. m.The participants, referees, teachers, non teaching staffs etc were there. The winners were honoured by Shri Johnson Kottukapallil, the Panchayath President of Njeezhoor and by Rev. Fr. Stephen Abraham with trophies and certificates. Finally Babu Joseph, Vice Principal of SKPS expressed the vote of thanks.

The Sahodaya Badminton Tournament truly became a platform to showcase the talents and efforts of children.
On concluding the report, I am happy to feel that all the events went as per the schedule and that we were able to complete the tournament right in time. I would like to express my sincere gratitude to our Manager Rev. Fr. Tomy Thervalakattayil OSB, Principal Rev. Fr. Joby Pannoorayil OSB and all the teaching and non-teaching staffs for their help and support. I express my praise to the Almighty for his blessings which guided us in the successful coordination of the event.
